Gasaxe Arts

Gasaxe Arts was born on the streets of Rockaway Beach in the late 1970's, but came of age in the 1980's in the mountains of Colorado and again re-invented in Rockaway Beach in the 1990's.

For over 30 years from the abandoned bunkers of Fort Tilden, to the farms of Iowa, to the mountains of Colorado and beyond; Gasaxe Art has documented the abandoned and forbidden places of the world.

Today, Gasaxe Art is continuing to move forward by using ordinary objects and taking them one step further.

Some of what is done by Gasaxe Art is often referred to as "Urban Exploration" or "UE" for short. Gasaxe Art rejects this notion and rejects the "UE" art genre which has become perverted into a genre of "follow the leader" and copy cat "artists".

It is also unfortunate that copy-cats seem to dominate the art world in general these days. For this reason, only past concepts and installations are noted on this site.

So read on, enjoy your visit and keep looking for Gasaxe Art on the streets of NYC and beyond.
